Hajj & Umrah

Prepare for pilgrimage with health in the plan.

Hajj and Umrah combine changing entry requirements with crowd, heat and physical demands. A personal review brings the certificate, medicine and practical details together.

A travel-health consultation does not guarantee a vaccination, prescription, certificate or medicine. Please do not email medical details.

The details that change the plan.

Safe travel-health advice joins current destination information with the person, timing and activities behind the journey.

01

Current requirements

The review checks official Saudi and TravelHealthPro guidance, including any vaccine and certificate rules that apply to your dates.

02

Physical demands

Walking, crowds, heat, sleep disruption and respiratory exposure can affect people with heart, lung, mobility and other conditions.

03

Continuity abroad

Regular medicines, safe storage, documents, insurance and a plan for deterioration are especially important.

Clinical review

One journey, assessed properly.

Advice is updated for the itinerary and then filtered through your health history, previous protection and the time left before departure.

Destination guidance informs the decision. It does not replace an individual assessment.

01

Certificates and records

Check vaccine names, dates, accepted documentation and whether an authorised provider is required.

02

Routine and travel vaccines

Review routine UK protection and destination-specific recommendations against your health history.

03

Heat and crowds

Plan hydration, sun and heat protection, footwear, respiratory hygiene and pacing around your abilities.

04

Existing conditions

Agree medicine supply, monitoring, mobility needs and when to seek local care.

Before the appointment

Bring the journey into focus.

Accurate dates, destinations, records and medicines help the clinician give advice that is useful and safe.

Important limits

  • Allhours GP cannot waive or interpret entry rules on behalf of Saudi authorities
  • A vaccination certificate is valid only if issued correctly by an appropriate provider

  • No consultation can remove all risk from heat, crowds or infection
  • People with complex or unstable health may need specialist advice before travel

Each step should leave you clearer about what to arrange, what remains uncertain and what to do if plans change.

Useful answers

Before you travel.

The right answer depends on the journey and the person taking it.

Which vaccine certificates are required?

Requirements vary and can change. The clinician checks current TravelHealthPro and Saudi Ministry of Health information for your dates; the relevant authority makes the final entry decision.

Is a previous pilgrimage certificate enough?

Not necessarily. The vaccine type, date, certificate format and current validity rules must all be checked.

What if I have diabetes, asthma or heart disease?

Arrange a review early. Discuss control, medicine supply, monitoring, heat, exertion, crowd exposure and what would make travel unsafe or require local care.

Can I arrange everything in one appointment?

The assessment can create one plan, but vaccine courses, stock, authorised certificates or specialist input may require separate appointments or providers.

What should I do if I become unwell during pilgrimage?

Use local medical services promptly for significant symptoms. Call the local emergency number for serious illness; do not wait until returning to the UK.

Travel Clinic appointments

Start with your itinerary.

Email your name, contact details, departure date and the countries you plan to visit. Do not include symptoms, medical history or medicine details in ordinary email; the team will provide a secure route for clinical information.
