Everyday illnesses
Symptoms or illnesses you would like a GP to assess.
When something is worrying you about your child, a thoughtful GP conversation can help you understand what is going on and what to do next. Care is shaped around their age, symptoms and individual needs.
Allhours GP is in development. Children’s appointments, eligibility and prices will be confirmed when booking opens; this page does not show live slots.

A children’s GP appointment can be a place to discuss common health concerns and decide whether advice, treatment or a closer examination is needed.

Changes you have noticed and want to talk through.
Something that has not settled or needs a further look.
Questions about your child’s wellbeing and next steps.
These are examples, not a promise that every concern can be assessed remotely. The safest appointment format depends on the child’s age, symptoms and clinical needs.
Your GP will consider what can be safely understood at a distance and when an examination is the better choice.
A face-to-face conversation can help the GP see and speak with your child when video is suitable.

We are designing the children’s GP journey to be clear for parents and carers, and considerate of the child or young person too.
When booking opens, share the child’s age, your concern and any details that may help guide a suitable appointment.
The GP will ask questions and involve your child in a way that suits their age, understanding and preferences.
Understand what the GP thinks, what to watch for and whether treatment, an examination or another service is needed.
Children and young people are not just passengers in their care. A good consultation listens to them in a way they can understand, while supporting parents and carers to make informed decisions.
How a young person takes part, and who is involved, depends on their age, capacity, wishes and clinical situation.
Questions that make sense to the child and the family.
Privacy and preferences considered as children grow older.
A safe next step if remote assessment or GP care is not enough.
When the service opens, you will see eligibility, live availability, clinician, appointment format, consultation length and full price before payment.
The suitable appointment options for your child will be shown here when booking becomes available.
This concept page does not reserve an appointment or collect information about your child. If help is needed now while booking is unavailable, contact NHS 111 or call 999 for a life-threatening emergency.
Helpful details about the planned children’s GP service.
Not through this page. Allhours GP is in development. Eligibility, live times, clinician details, duration and full prices will be shown before payment when booking opens.
Remote care depends on the child’s age, symptoms and clinical needs. Some children need an in-person examination or more urgent assessment. Service eligibility will be confirmed in the booking journey.
The GP will advise how the child should take part. Children and young people should be involved in a way that suits their age and understanding; their views and privacy matter too.
Both formats are planned, but the GP may advise video, an in-person examination or another service if a phone call would not allow a safe assessment.
Only if the GP decides it is clinically appropriate after assessment. Advice, further questions or an examination may be a safer next step.
For a life-threatening emergency call 999. If you are unsure which urgent service is needed, contact NHS 111. For a child under 5, call 111 rather than using 111 online.
No. Private GP care can sit alongside your child’s NHS GP registration.
