A GP appointment is intended to give you room to explain what is worrying you. When booking opens, health information should be shared through a secure clinical process, not by ordinary email.
A remote discussion may be a useful first step. Depending on your history and symptoms, the clinician may recommend a physical examination, health checks or another service.
A GP can discuss changes in urinary symptoms and decide whether an examination or test is needed. If you cannot pass urine, have blood in your urine or have pain when urinating, seek urgent advice from NHS 111 rather than waiting for this service to open.
No treatment is automatic. A medicine can only be considered after an appropriate assessment and within an approved clinical pathway.
